The Ada Traditional Council has announced that the 89th Ada Asafotufiami Festival will be observed from 7-14 August 2026, with this year's programme shaped by traditional cleansing, spiritual renewal, and communal reflection.

The observance comes ahead of two major milestones: the 90th anniversary of Asafotufiami in 2027 and the Golden Jubilee of the reign of HRM Djetse Nene Kabu Abram Akuaku III. The 2026 period is therefore being positioned as preparation, reflection, and renewal for Ada State.

The Council's announcement makes clear that the year should not be understood simply as a pageantry-led festival season. Many customary and cultural activities normally associated with Asafotufiami will not take place in their usual form, while Durbar Day will be observed in an adjusted format.

Approved social gatherings, community engagements, hospitality activities, and corporate brand activations may continue as scheduled. Visitors and partners should, however, follow official guidance and verify specific activities before making plans.
